Carlota Holder
Co-Founder
Carlota Holder leverages over a decade of experience in multilingual education to enhance learning outcomes for students. Her career is marked by a dedication to supporting multilingual learners, informed by her own experiences as a multilingual learner in rural Indiana.
Carlota's educational journey spans kindergarten through 8th grade, encompassing both English and Spanish instruction. She is a certified Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) trainer with extensive experience in leading SIOP Foundations, SIOP Training of Trainers and SIOP Co-teaching professional development sessions. She has been a member of the SIOP Advisory Panel since 2018.
She holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and licenses in Spanish P-12 and English as a Second Language. In addition to being co-founder of MERCIndy, Carlota serves as Director of Academic Language for Enlace Academy and an adjunct instructor for Marian University. Carlota was awarded INTESOL P-12 “Best of the Best EL Educator” in 2023.
Carlota enjoys working in her garden, reading and spending time with her people.
